Hi, I’m Kate, the voice behind Messy but Managed.
I’m a mom to two girls who are complete opposites in personality, which means our house runs on equal parts laughter and chaos.
I’m married to a husband who handles bedtime and most of the chores (bless him), while I wrangle kids, activities, and the never-ending mental load.
By day, I’m a licensed social worker and therapist, fueled by coffee. By night, I’m fueled by sarcasm, messy-bun energy, and the occasional margarita.
I love true crime podcasts, Chick-fil-A, Starbucks, and the idea of stealing a baby highland cow (kidding… mostly).
Game nights, messy crafts, hikes I probably shouldn’t have attempted, and paddle-boarding keep me grounded.
Messy but Managed started as a place to share the funny, chaotic, and meaningful moments of mom life, the ones that make you laugh, cry, or want to scream into a pillow (sometimes all in the same hour).
Over time, it grew into something more.
Now, Messy but Managed is both a blog and a collection of therapist-informed tools and workbooks created to help overwhelmed moms pause, reset, and move forward, without pressure to fix everything.
Around here, I’m the conductor of the Hot Mess Express, sometimes with calm, sometimes with chaos, but always with honesty. You’ll see a little perspective from my therapist brain woven in, not lectures or clinical advice, just practical tools and reflections that actually help when the messy feels unmanageable.
If you’re looking for perfect, this isn’t it. If you’re looking for relatable, honest, and sometimes managed, you’re in the right place.
Come hang out with me on Instagram for real-life moments, reflections, and messy-but-managed updates in real time.
